Could Red Wine Boost Your Testosterone?

We’ve all heard that a glass of red wine per day is good for your cardiovascular health, but did you know it could also be good for male testosterone levels as well?

One of the ways your body gets rid of testosterone is through enzymes attached to urine, which the body disposes of on a daily basis. Researchers at Kingston University in London have discovered that a compound in red wine called quercetin blocks this enzyme, keeping more testosterone in your body.

While this could have exciting implications for men with low testosterone, an important factor in erectile dysfunction, the findings aren’t conclusive yet since they were conducted in laboratory settings that may not carry over into the real world. But it still doesn’t hurt to have a glass or two of your favorite red wine at the end of the day: it may be good for your heart in more ways than one.
